Wreaths Across America 2014 #wreathsacrossamerica #civilairpatrol

Pin It Now!

We had the honor of attending the Wreaths Across America Ceremony this year with Civil Air Patrol, what made it particularly special for our family was that it was being held at the cemetery where my Grandpa is buried. After we were all through Alyx got the honor of laying a wreath on his Great Grandpa Wayne's grave who is a veteran of WWII. It was a very touching and impacting ceremony and has sparked an interest in Alyx to attend the ceremony in Washington D.C. next year at Arlington National Cemetery. I sure hope we are able to make that happen, it would be a Senior year to remember for sure.

God's Will

Pin It Now!    I have been thinking a lot lately about God's Will and his timing when we pray and ask him for his guidance or help. Many people I have talked to lately have said they are losing faith in God because they ask for God for his help but he doesn't answer. My experience has been this... He never says no... He just says not now! I had been praying for help with our finances and a job landed in my lap maybe even 2 jobs. I have been praying for change in our housing situation and today that prayer may have been answered. We do not know yet but I am leaving up to God's Will. If it is meant to be for our family it will happen in God's timing. Is this to say I will not be disappointed if it does not happen? Absolutely not, but I will know that this is either not the house for us or it is not time for us to move. I am learning more and more to trust in God's timing. All signs point to the fact that this is indeed the house for us, but that is our opinion we just do not know yet what the outcome will be.

It surely does not help me get less excited or less anxious waiting on the answer. It is sometimes hard to trust in the Lord but with practice we learn. I am learning more each day about this trust. It applies to my marriage, my family, our finances, anything really that affects our life. We must fully trust in the Lord for good to happen.

Do you find it hard to fully trust in God like I sometimes do? I know I cannot be alone in this lesson of life. How do you help yourself to trust in him.
