NOT SO Wordless Wednesday Starting Over

Pin It Now!  As you all know our Garage had a fire and everything in it was destroyed. I was devastated at first as many things were simply not replaceable, but as the days wore on and people kept telling me to look at the bright side. I did, and realized that it is just stuff no matter what way you look at it. The kids even started to get excited because this meant they all got to go shopping. The first major order of business was Taylor and Alyx getting their new bikes. Here are the ones they got.

Nick went with a new skateboard and I took him school shopping on Monday and to see the new Harry Potter Movie in 3D with his friend Lexi. We also went out to lunch to Olive Garden. I have to say it was the greatest day in such a long time. I truly enjoyed myself and hope we can do it again soon.
The other boys left for camp for the week on Monday I have to say I miss them so much, but it is kind of nice to have some peace and quiet for a change. Nick and I are off to have some things done to our "New" "Bus" as the kids call it.

Wordless Wednesday Childhood Hangouts being torn down

Pin It Now! This was the bowling alley I grew up bowling at and into my adulthood, and my children also bowled here. It is a sad sight to say the least.

Pin It Now!

Outside my window...Sunny, Hot and Muggy

I am thinking...that I will be so grateful when my Central A/C gets installed and hooked up tomorrow. We have never had A/C except when we lived with my Grandma in her house.

I am thankful...for Friends that help when there is a need, if it were not for people like this, we would not be getting A/C, would not have 2 bikes that, one for my hubby to ride to work and then when he is home Taylor and Alyx ride them for fun.

From the learning rooms...(if this applies)We are actually beginning to ready our classroom for the upcoming Fall as we start the middle of August. So we are cleaning, sorting and making an inventory list of supplies needed as this past weekend kicked off the School Supply Sales. I love this time of year. I will show a pic of what I got for $7 tomorrow for my Wordless Wednesday Post.

In the kitchen.. noodles are being cooked for lunch, we have decided we want noodles with butter and Parmesan cheese for lunch.

I am wearing...Jean Capris and a Flowered Tshirt and my Crocs

I am creating...Alyx's Birthday Invites and Swap cards for my Upline's Stampin up Meeting in 2 weeks.

I am going...to a used homeschool book fair on Thursday with my good friend Sue, which is why we are going through are classroom this week so we don't buy something we already have or do not need

I am wondering...How people who cause tragic accidents by their own reckless abandon sleep at night. Last weekend there was a terrible tragedy that happened at our corner grocery store. This happened at 6:30 PM and Alyx and I had just left there around 5:30 from finishing our shopping. Scary stuff. You can read about the accident here

I am reading...nothing at the moment but I am anxiously awaiting my review copy of Courageous.

I am hoping...that all goes as planned and we will have our new garage built and finished by the end of this month.

I am looking forward to...A week without my kids, don't get me wrong I love them and I love having them home all the time but I look forward to this week every year they go off to Christian camp with our old church. They are excited too.

I am hearing...
K-love on the computer with Sponge Bob in the background, What a combination!

Around the house...Things are looking pretty good, been staying home a lot so we have been keeping up with our chores.

I am pondering...taking some classes at the community college.

One of my favorite things...Lazy Summer Days

A few plans for the rest of the week: homeschool book fair, stamping with friends and a relaxing weekend.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...My oldest son Nick (left) and his good friend Brandon(right) got their pic taken at Warped Tour this past week with the Drummer of  "Mice and Men" they were so excited. They had a blast, it is a 12 hr concert held every Summer here at Comerica Park.

What's Been Happening 'round here

Pin It Now! Things have been absolutely a whirlwind rollercoaster ride around here since the garage fire on the 22nd of June. On the 24th Dave and I celebrated our 16th Wedding Anniversary and we attended our City fireworks with our good friends and their family. That weekend was pretty low key thank Goodness as we needed some down time.
On the 27th my hubby went back to the Dr. and was cleared to go back to work, Praise God.
On June 28th My Grandma celebrated her 91st Birthday all day long with our family and my parents. We started the day by going out to breakfast with my Mom and Dad and then we topped it off with Dinner and Dessert and some Farkle at my parents house to wind out the evening.
The in between times this week have been spent meeting with the insurance adjustor and contrators to get estimates to have our garage rebuilt and the contents replaced.
I cannot wait to this is all over and we can truly start enjoying our summer. One of the bummers of our fire was that the pump to our pool got fried in the process. The kids have been having to clean it everyday just to use it because the solar cover was melted too. The big tree in our yard thankfully did not catch fire but alot of the leaves around the garage got singed and they are all dead now and constantly falling in the pool which stinks, but if the kids want to swim bad enough they will spend the time skimming it.
It really amazes me as I was making the list of the lost contents how much stuff we really had in our garage. Good grief we have not even been here 2 years and we have accumulated a ton of "stuff". It has made us realize we do not need so many material items.
To round out the week yesterday we finally took the plunge and bought something much needed and that we have been talking about forever, we bought our "Family Bus". A Dodge Ram 3500 15 passenger van. I absolutely love it and I love that we can soon dump our car payment by turning the orange bomb of a minivan that has been a thorn in my side since we got it.
Our new "Bus" was a church van for a little Baptist church in Warren and it was not driven much so the miles are low and that is perfect for us.
The kids were so excited to take a ride and see if Mom could make it through the drive-through at the local icecream parlor. Well guess what? I passed, all the things I was worried about like changing lanes, parking lots, and drive-throughs I have been able to do with great ease and so now I am ready for our first road trip. Family, friends, luggage and dog all in one vehicle.
Here is a picture of our new "Bus", Alyx and I are looking for some cool graphics to decorate it to make it our own. White is definitely not my color and would not have been my first choice. I LOVE COLOR so we will definitely need to fix that soon.
