The Homeschool Mother's Journal

I have joined in a new homeschool mom blog hop over at The Homeschool Chick

In my life this week…
We had a pretty laid back week for once and I have to say I enjoyed it alot and it gave me a glimpse of summertime when we just kind of go with the flow. I am looking forward to it, we only have 2 weeks of co-op left and then we are off for the summer and do not start back up until fall.
I am looking forward to the time off, I have enjoyed teaching this semester and look forward to teaching 2 new classes in the fall. The puppy is settling in to our life and home and she is just a joy.
Alyx attended the 7-12th grade Enrich Banquet Friday night and had a ton of fun. It is so nice to see him blossoming socially.

In our homeschool this week…
We had the week off since Nick was on Spring Break the only school things we did were Enrich and Alyx went to the Enrich Banquet other than that it was a vacation and a much needed one to say the least. I think it has left us refreshed to dive into the last month of school and be able to do it with ease and little frustration. I am proud to say we are in the home stretch of our first entire school year and we have survived thus far and have done very well too.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
This week we have another slow week, Yippee!! Just the usual,Bible Study on Tuesday, Church and Royal Rangers Wednesday and Enrich Thursday other than that a whole lot of nothing but school going on around here.

My favorite thing this week was…Just taking it easy and letting the kids just hang out and getting the opportunity to go out to dinner with our good friends Sean and Sue before the 4 of us headed off to our bowling league on Friday.

What’s working/not working for us…Everything seems to be working for usexcept Math the kids are bored with the computer based Math this year so I think we are switching over to Math U See next school year, the only other thing that is not working is when we have days of nice weather we are eager to get done with our school work and get outdoors.

Homeschool questions/thoughts I have…How often do other homeschool families change up their curriculum choices? Do you reassess each year or just play it by ear.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…
This is my family's favorite Tim Hawkins Video, he has quickly become our favorite comedian.
