CLOSED Don't Drink ____, Drink WAT-AAH! Review and Giveaway

Pin It Now! THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED WINNER WILL BE POSTED AFTER 10:30 PM EST TUESDAY JUNE 1st 2010

WAT-AAH! wants to help  fight childhood obesity and encourage kids to be healthi-aah! and feel sup-aah!
Please join me in helping to spread the word about their campaign and lets get these kids Healthy!!!

My family was given the distinct pleasure of reviewing a new Hot off the presses drink this past week and let me tell you, the kids think it is GREAT!!  We are so excited to be able to share this with you and one of my lucky readers will receive a sample of this great product. One lucky winner will receive a mixed box of Wat-aah and some fun goodies to go along with it like tattoos, stickers and maybe some other things it is a box full of surprises.... Details at the end of this Review.
At first they were like "This is just water, Mom!!" But they love the packaging, bright neon kid friendly colors, and the name Wat-aah!  We are big George Lopez fans in this house and if you know anything about him you can relate, my kids are running around acting like George and instead of some of this phrases they are replacing them with Wat-aah!! It is so funny, they were like we want some more Wat-aah Please!!
They also got cool neon temporary tattoos and stickers to go with the theme and immediately put them to good use. Here is my 10 yr old enjoying his Wat-aah! And my 11 yr old showing off his Wat-aah sticker!!

What I love the most about this drink is that the kids want to drink it and it is just fortified water, but the concept is so much fun and geared to kids so it draws them in. I am glad to see a product that is healthy but still fun. I like that my kids want to drink water. They were so excited to show their friends, I was sorry I did not have enough to go around. But my kids felt so special to be able to tell their friends that they were reviewing it to let the world know if they liked it, it is too funny!!

Here is a press release that was given announcing the drink to the New York Market....

WAT-AAH!, The First Functional Bottled Water For Kids, Fights Soda Companies With New Ad Campaign: 'Don't Drink _____, Drink WAT-AAH!'

Download image NEW YORK, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Launching May 3rd, WAT-AAH!, the first functional bottled water for kids without sugar, coloring or calories, takes on soda manufacturers with a bold new advertising campaign: "Don't Drink _____, Drink WAT-AAH!". With "_____" filled in with the words "Soda," "Sugar," "Junk," and "&#%+!," the campaign has a clear and direct message: to make moms and kids aware that there is an alternative to soda and other sugary drinks that tastes great, is legitimately healthy, and genuinely cool.

(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20100503/NY97151 )

For the month of May, the "Don't Drink ___" ad campaign will run outdoors in New York City with ubiquitous wild-postings and street stencils carrying the messages. This grassroots campaign will be accompanied by a viral execution showing the WAT-AAH! boy determinedly covering traditional soda icons and images that he encounters on the streets with the wild-posters. These videos and posters will also appear on the company's website, YouTube, Facebook, and other social media sites. Additionally, print ads have been purchased to run in local family and parenting magazines in key markets across the country, such as Philadelphia, Boston, Los Angeles, San Diego, and others.

"The soda bubble is bust. Kids know it, their moms know it, but so do the soda manufacturers," says WAT-AAH!'s CEO and founder Rose Cameron. "That's why they have launched an overwhelming number of so-called 'healthy alternatives,' such as juice based drinks or enhanced water beverages. But the truth is that these 'healthy alternatives' often have as much (and sometimes more) sugar than the sodas they are meant to replace." Cameron continues, "water is the true alternative to soda, but up until now kids have found it boring and preachy. Not anymore. WAT-AAH!, 100% sugar free, ultra pure water, convinces kids that drinking water is far from boring!"

Founded in New York City in 2008 by Rose Cameron and her son, Jack, WAT-AAH! is the first water "cool" enough to convince kids to switch away from soda and other sugar laden beverages that litter the marketplace. With one in three children in the US considered to be overweight or obese, WAT-AAH!'s mission is clear: to reverse the established behavior and dependency on sweetened drinks among American children, thus reducing the alarmingly high rates of childhood obesity.

What we have been up to this week and what is coming up on the horizon.

Pin It Now!  This week has been very low key, we had a couple days where our car was in the shop, so on Monday we had to get all of our errands done, then the weather turned horribly hot and muggy, my MS and Heat do not mix, so we watched some educational videos, and did some science, wrapped up our Math for the school year, and we finished up our Language Arts, we will continue on through the Summer with Science, Reading,Social Studies and Bible. The boys will be signing up Tuesday for the Summer Reading Club at our library, they really make it fun for the kids to stay motivated with reading through out the Summer months. Vacation Bible School sign-ups are happening, this is about the time the boys plot their strategies to attend as many VBS locations as possible, which makes it chaotic for me but they enjoy it and are learning God's word so it is all for Good reasons. Our Church VBS is the week after Nick gets out of PS so no rest for the weary. This weekend we are headed to Greenfield Village on Saturday, we have a membership so it is so nice a cheap, educational outing that we all enjoy as a family. This weekend they have extended hours and they are having the Civil War re-enactment. This looks so cool, it was great that we signed up for alerts from the Museum, because they called and reminded us about this fun opportunity this week, I had almost forgotten all about it. Then on Sunday we are headed up to the Yacht Club for the Memorial Day Festivities and my Grandma is being honored as a Chartered Honorary Membe, she is the oldest living Member, according the Membership Roster. My Grandpa was one of the original Men who got the club started and off the ground. This is a huge honor for our whole family, the boys are looking so forward to it.  I will be sure to post pictures of it next week. The blessing of the Fleet is that day also to kick off the Official Start of Boating Season.
What are you doing to celebrate and Honor Memorial Day. I would love to hear what you have been up to and your upcoming plans this coming Holiday.

Storkie Custom Printing Review

Pin It Now!

We were given the wonderful pleasure or working with Storkie on this review. I was contacted by Storkie and asked which type of product we would like to review. I was so excited as Alyx's 12th Birthday is coming up fast and furiously and we wanted to do something special for his party this year, 12 is a big milestone in our opinion and should be celebrated as such. So we did not waste time getting started on this project that was for sure.
The Storkie website is so easy to navigate and the samples are just adorable, especially the Birth announcements and 1st Birthday invites, they also carry Baptism, Communion and Wedding invitations
as well as so much more.
The ease of creating our invitations went so smoothly I could hardly believe it. You are walked through the creation process step by step and it is so easy to go back and change something if you decide on something else while you are creating your special items.
You can change the color and font of your text. I loved that you get to see it as you are creating, it is as if your vision comes to life right before your very eyes.  I also was able to have my envelopes printed with our return address in any color or font I wanted as well. That makes it so professional looking and elegant. After I was finished with our project it was sent to the company and then I was given the option of having a proof sent to us before the invitations were sent for printing. The turn around time is so efficient I was so impressed. We placed the order late on a Thursday night around 11 PM and we had the invitations in our hands a week later. I was so pleased with the quality of the invitation itself, the weight of the paper and the embossed lettering that was included in the design we chose. Here is what our Invitation looked like,There are also blue balloons in the lower corner where my RSVP and phone number is .

I have only shown a portion to protect our family's privacy as our address and phone number were printed on the bottom portion and our address was on the envelopes as well,so there is no picture of those, but you can check out our design and more on the Storkie website to create your own masterpiece for your next event.

This experience of ordering custom printed invitations has made Alyx feel extra special and he is excited more than ever now about his Carnival Birthday party this Summer.

Snack Taxi Review

Pin It Now!

I was given the opportunity to review the great product Snack Taxi, which thrilled me as we are on a Quest to find more Eco friendly companies and products to help us continue our journey of Going Green. I am trying so very hard to not buy plastic sandwich bags and tin foil and other products of that nature. So when the opportunity to review Snack Taxis I jumped at the chance so that we could hopefully find an alternative to the above mentioned products. We were sent a Sandwich sack and a Snack sack.
Here is some information about SNACK TAXI.

Here are the ones we were sent for review.
I just love the cute pattern material they are made from.
I also like they close and open easily with a heavy duty Velcro closure. They are also lined with a easy wipe off material. But never fear these are machine washable if they get too dirty from your snacks and lunches.

they open up very wide to slide your food right in, no squeezing your sandwich in this wonderful sandwich baggie.

If you are looking for a Eco friendly alternative to
plastic baggies and aluminum foil for your lunch or snack on the go, then please check out Snack TAXI. You will not be sorry.
There are so many patterns to chose from I am sure there is one for every person's unique interests and tastes.
Sandwich sacks sell for $8.95
snack sacks are $6.95
When you sit down and figure out how much you spend on disposable snack and sandwich storage you will save a ton of money in a short amount of time all while doing your part to help our planet.
There are also other products available as well check out the whole product line.

My opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are my own, This is in no way a paid endorsement for this company. I was given a sample or Snack Taxi products for my review purpose only.

DVD Read and SHARE Bible The Jesus Series:Life and Miracles Review

Pin It Now!

I was given a copy of DVD Read and Share Bible The Jesus Series: Life and Miracles for my family to review courtesy of Thomas Nelson Publishers from Booksneeze.
My sons 10 and 11 were very anxious to sit down and watch this movie, they have been waiting for it to come.
I think the stories told in this DVD are told in a way that kids can understand, the DVD was just the right length and the boys thoroughly enjoyed watching the movie and hearing the stories of Jesus. There were the stories of Jesus calling his disciples, feeding 5,000 people, healing the sick, teaching about God's Kingdom and introducing the Lord's Supper. The only thing my boys and I did not like is the movie kind of left off in an odd spot. Otherwise I thought it was very well put together and perfect for kids of all ages, like I said my youngest boys are 10 and 11 and they enjoyed it and I think much younger kids would enjoy it as well. In our family's opinion we would give it 4 out of 5 stars. Only because of the abrupt ending. Otherwise it would have had 5 full stars.
Here is the Description from the publisher....

Take a wonder-filled journey with Jesus and His disciples.

Animated straight from the pages of the popular Read and Share® Bible, The Jesus Series introduces children to the life of Christ. Unlike the 3-minute, bite-size story format of the Read and Share® DVD Bible Volumes 1-4, this DVD is an uninterrupted half-hour presentation of Jesus' ministry along the shores of Lake Galilee and the villages near Nazareth. Children will see Jesus call His disciples, feed 5,000 people, heal the sick, teach about God’s kingdom and introduce the Lord’s Supper.

This DVD completes The Jesus Series by presenting the life of Christ in a way that little ones can understand and build a solid foundation on.

Homeschool Blog Hop 10 Favorite Subject to teach

Pin It Now!

I would love to say my favorite subject is Science, which surprises me and everyone else since I was never really a science person when I was in school, We do not use any particular curriculum this year. We love doing hands on activities in science and I think maybe that is why I am loving teaching it so much this year . We are going to be using Step up and Be Green for Jesus for a Summer Science curriculum, I picked it up at Family Christian Book Store, it is meant to be a VBS set, but it goes so perfectly with our study on being green. The kids are getting excited we will be starting that unit in 2 weeks. We have decided to do school all year round doing 3-4 days a week the kids really need the structure. Years ago the doctors even suggested year round school as they say most kids with any form of Autism need and crave the structure. We like being relaxed about school and knowing if something comes up we can switch our days we do school, and we can school at camp if we decide to take off up to the campground for a couple weeks here and there.
In the Fall after Step Up and Be Green for Jesus is over we are going to be using Answers in Genisis for Science in combination with our hands on projects. I am looking forward to teaching Science from the Creation aspect. Something they definitely do not get in Public School.
