L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge- "red, white & blue"
This challenge is hosted at http://www.homeiswhereyoustartfrom.com/

Today's the LEarning Never Stops learning challenge is 'red, white & blue'. Use your creativity to explore what that means or looks like to you!

Red,white and blue means freedom and sacrifice to our family. We have many family members who have served in the wars over the many years including my cousin who is serving in Afghanastan right now. It means the fight for freedom so we can be a FREE country and it also means soldiers having to pay the ultimate price for that freedom: their life. That is the biggest sacrifice a human can make, trading their life for the freedom of others. God Bless the Soldiers.
Memorial Day is a huge day at our Yacht Club, they honor the soldiers serving today and memorialize the ones who have served in the past, the fallen soldiers and the vets that were members of our club that we have lost along the way, one of those being my Grandpa. The Navy Sea Cadets participated this year in the ceremony, there is a flag and color guard ceremony and also a wreath ceremony where they drop a red, white and blue wreath for the men and a pink one for the ladies who have passed. They call out all lost veteran members and as each name is read there is a bell rung, there is a moment of silence and taps are played and there is also a 21 gun salute, there is not a dry eye anywhere to be found, it is a somber ceremony that makes you really think what others have sacrificed for us to have our freedom.

I love each of these... but the first may be my most favorite... such young people learning about honor. Thank you so much for sharing these!

All great pics! I have a brother currently in Afghanistan, too. For this red white and blue photo challenge I love the picture of the red and white flowers floating in the blue water, by the way.
