Outlast Hand Sanitizer MomSelect Party

Pin It Now!

Having special needs children, I am always on the lookout for ways to help control the spread of germs, so when I was given the opportunity to hose a Outlast Hand Sanitizer Mommy Party, I was so intrigued to give this new sanitizer a run for its money and test it out on my friends and their kids. Who better than children to put germ barriers to the test. It does not matter how hard you try kids will try to spread germs and after the terrible rounds of influenza that raged through all of our families this past winter I was beginning to think there was no hope in sight to keep the germs at bay. Alas I was wrong there is now a great product called Outlast and it last up to 6 hours to help keep the spreading of germs from occurring. What I liked even better was that it was not a gel like most hand sanitizers that really only protect you or your kids for a few minutes, this was a liquid type that felt as smooth as water and left our hands feeling smooth, not fry or irritated. Even Taylor with all his skin issues did not have one problem with the formula of this product, that sold me almost immediately, because he cannot tolerate many items on the market in this category.
My friends and I got together one afternoon and let the kids play and then put the outlast to the test when it came time for lunch and let me tell you, there were cheers all around. All the moms were impressed and the kids did not complain that it was nasty feeling like they usually do with the competitors sanitizing gel.
Because we had the party at the park I let the moms know there was a video HERE they could watch when they got home to learn more about Outlast and they also got to take home a goody bag with some Outlast of their own. They were thrilled. They also got to fill out a card to receive offers from Outlast and to be entered into a drawing for a $100 handbag. What mom doesn't want a chance to win a new handbag, I know I do.

You too can get a free bottle of Outlast by just paying the shipping right now on their site. www.outlastgerms.com/moms

Sanlori Hot Chicks Candles Review and Contest

Pin It Now!
I am always on the lookout for new candles as we are a Huge candle burning family, and in the process also give candles as gifts to those hard to shop for people, but you just don't want to give a plain old candle with the same boring scent. So when I was given the opportunity to review Hot Chicks Candles from Sanlori, I could not have been happier. It was everything I was looking for, Hot new scents and beautiful ready to gift packaging. I love the little hot pink Chick and the vibrant feather on the top of the box. The package is fun and funky and fresh. I would love to recieve a cute gift like this, so I am sure my friends would too. The scents are intoxicating, the Light Up the Room boxed candle that I recevied to review was in the scent of Espresso Yourself, with the sweet blend of coffee and hazlenut, it just gives you that relax at home feeling.
I was also given a sample scent box which had all of the other scents in it like, Cosmo Compatible, Sea & Be Seen, French Kiss, La Vie Gypsy, and Olive My Love.  I have to say my 2 favorites are the Espresso Myself and the Cosmo Compatible for everyday use, although I love the Olive My Love for my Kitchen it has Olive and Spices smell to it and lends itself perfectly to add a beautiful aroma to any kitchen.
My least Favorite is the La Vie Gypsy it was a little to strong for me as I am not a huge perfume fan and this aroma reminded me of a strong perfume.   I think anyone would be happy to receive one of these cute candles as a gift, there are also many other invitations and gift items on the Sanlori website, http://www.sanlori.com/
The also have specials of the month like this. Sanlori is having a contest and you could win your very own Hot Chicks Candle. Here are the details ...

To enter the Pick –a- Chick candle giveaway from July 23rd through July 30th visit SanLori  and become fan of their  Facebook  page  and  Follow them on Twitter. Hermie Who is in Charge Anyway DVD Review

Pin It Now!

My kids and I were so excited when this DVD came up for an opportunity to review, we love the Hermie videos they are great for rainy days and we love to curl up in my bed and watch them in the mornings. My kids are older, but enjoy this type of DVD still to this day. We love anything by Max Lucado and this was no exception. Hermie Who is in charge anyway, takes us back to when the characaters were babies and trying to figure out who is in Charge of our Universe, which the answer is of course God. I was drawn to the Hermie videos right from the start and one of my favorite things about this series is that the characters, which are the cutest garden bugs actually have conversations with God, and they hear him talk to them, I think this helps children to identify and solidify that they truly can talk to God, and he listens and answers our prayers. This Dvd was no different, they are fun, and endearing and it is so neat to see them figure out problems and conflicts by talking to God.

Here is some info from the Publsihers about Hermie Who is in Charge Anyway
Meet the Garden gang before they grew up!
Sitting around a camp fire on a beautiful star-lit night, the garden gang is talking about their favorite memories. Antonio recounts the Garden Olympics, but admits he was a scrawny kid-ant whose parents did not think he would ever amount to much. Flo confesses she used to be shy and introverted. Turns out all Hermie and Friends’ adventures are made possible by the things that happened to them as kids. And it’s also clear that God has had a plan for all of the garden characters right from the start – as long as they had the sense to listen and follow God’s message. Includes new and previous animation.

We were given this DVD review copy from Booksneeze and we were NOT compensated in any way for our review of this DVD.

Happy 12th Birthday Mama's Sweet Sweet Boy

Pin It Now!

I sit here finding it so hard to believe that 12 years have passed since you entered our world, who knew that our lives would change so dramatically that fateful afternoon. You were an easy delivery, the easiest out of the bunch, the only one that ever got to room in and did not spend a second in special care or NICU, but yet you have had so many problems over the 12 years of your amazing life so far. You were always so curious as a little boy, taking many things apart to try and figure out how they worked, many times we could not put them back together. It was sometimes hard to not lose my patience with you, there was little sleep going on in our house and that did not help matters. Then when you were 3 yrs old we inquired with the doctor that you were just "different" than your older brother, he referred us to a Psychologist who said you had, Sensory Integration Dysfunction and something else that she could not quite put her finger on, so she then sent us to her associate the Psychiatrist who after only a short time said he agreed, but added Oppositional Defiant Disorder and ADHD, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but that he was referring us to a Neurologist because there was something else he just could not quite figure out, Gee where had we heard that before. So off to the Neuro we went and he gave us the most devastating news I thought I would ever here, You indeed had all those problems that the other Drs. said you did but they were symptoms of something called Autism.
I was stunned, and confused and worried for you all at once and I also felt along with your Dad very alone in the world, because you see back then we knew not a sole with these issues. We did not know where to turn and in that instant the Internet which we had just gotten to start researching all of these labels they were attaching to you, became my very best friend. I got in touch with the Autism Societies, and support groups and it made all the difference in the world, I was no longer alone in this journey there were others going through the very same thing.
Over the next few years we would join many groups, enroll you in Special Ed, and take you to many extensive therapy sessions, including Sensory Therapy 5 mornings a week for many months, to help you learn to regulate your senses and try to fit in this chaotic world that did not sit well with you. This helped tremendously, I remember being so proud when you learned to use silverware at almost 5 yrs old. Those were huge accomplishments back then and we cherished every single one. We always Celebrated the smallest of feats. One of those being shortly before your 10th Birthday which was just 2 short years ago, I will never forget you learned to tie your very own shoes that day, I remember sobbing tears of Joy for what seemed like days. I thought back then that you may never master that small thing most people take for granted. Little did we know that the very next school year you would achieve all A's, receive a Presidential Scholar Award from the President of the Unites States and Be on the front page of the Area Newspaper for all of your recent accomplishments. You continue to awe me on a daily basis, I cannot wait to see what you do with your gifts God has handed you.  We have learned over the years not to take your accomplishments for granted, you never know when we will have another uphill battle. You have proven to us time and time again that there are so many things worth fighting for and some that simply do not matter, School used to be one of those fights and then you had one amazing year in 5th grade and we thought our struggles were over, but then 6th grade came and your world once again came crashing down, and this time instead of fighting we took a stand and followed our hearts and listened to God's wisdom and pulled you and your brother out of the public school system that plagued you so, and started our home schooling journey, it has not been completely flawless, this too has been a learning experience but I am so blessed to be able to follow you on this wonderful path, to be able to see all of your accomplishments and offer you guidance when you stumble.
We have grown so close over these last 6 months and I Thank God everyday that he guided me in this direction, we are able to practice our Faith more and more, and I am so thankful for that freedom. There is so much less stress, and fighting amongst you and Tay, it has made you closer which I love to see. I enjoy learning with you and exploring with you and taking it easy with you. We have accomplished so much even when People or Things put obstacles in our way, We will never let anything or anyone stop you from making everything you can of yourself and Life. I hope and pray that you continue your journey in the arms of the Lord, making God the center of your world. I know you will do Great things with your life as you are so sensitive and caring and so eager to please others. You are such a talented student and chef, I see you running your very own restaurant one day. I will come and work for you LOL. I sit here writing this, reliving all of your pains and triumphs and my heart hurts for you and Soars for you Simultaneously, you are the gift from God that has humbled me over the last 12 years. I know he chose me to be your Mom for a reason and there have certainly been days when I doubted my Faith, but I am boundlessly blessed to call you my SON.
It saddens me to know you are not here today to Celebrate your life with your family but I am comforted knowing you are with your brothers deepening your spiritual being, and walking with our Lord on your week long camping trip with the Youth Group from Church, I think that is the greatest Birthday Gift we could have given you, was the opportunity to GROW YOUR FAITH this week, and open your heart even further to GOD.
I love you My Sweet Sweet Boy, Happy 12th Birthday to you. I cannot wait to see what this next year holds for you and our family, as we continue on this journey called Chaos and Life.
Love, Mama

A Birthday Surprise

Pin It Now!     As many of you know I belong to a Red Hat group, I am no where near 50 so I am a Pink Hatter instead, I joined this group a couple of years ago and I have made the best friends possible in this wonderful group of ladies. They accept me for who I am and are there for me whenever I may need them. There are a few of us from the group that are much closer than the rest and they are like an extended part of my family. We do tons of stuff together and just have fun. I am so glad to have found them, well anyway back to my story, enough gushing on, LOL.
My son Alyx in recent months has been elected our Resident Chapter Baker, he loves to cook and bake, so for all of our luncheons he makes dessert whether it be cupcakes or cake for a Birthday lunch or if there are no monthly birthdays he makes up something else special, well this month there were no birthdays to celebrate so My dear friend Kim, who happens to be our Queen set it up so he would be the Guest of Honor for this months luncheon since it was his Birthday and we would celebrate and make him the center of attention to Thank Him for all of his hard work being our Baker, so this month was my month to actually host, and just so happens before I knew he was coming I picked his favorite restaurant to dine at, it is our whole family's favorite actually ShoGun. It is a Japanese steak house and they cook right at the table and put on a little show, they have the best food and it is close by.
So he had no clue untilt hat morning that he was even going anywhere let alone lunch with us, because he knows  no kids, no men when it is my day out with my Hatter sisters, So I told him early that morning he was being dropped off on my way to lunch, when we pulled up he was like "wait, I am going to the same place you are for Lunch?'' he was confused to say the least. Well I had to let him in on the Surprise and he was so excited, so he helped me set up the tables with the favors and we waited for the gang to arrive, everyone made a BIG deal out of him being there and it made him feel extra special.
They "sang" Happy Birthday to him, we do not sing we use Kazoos which he thought was so funny, and some of the ladies even blew bubbles in his honor, they presented him with a card from the Whole gang with $20 in it, he thought he had truly died and gone to Heaven. He is using it this week to buy souvenirs at camp, he even printed them up a Thank You card right away and I gave it to Kim the other night, she is going to present it to the group at our next lunch.  Here are some pictures to share from the Lunch.
