2010 A Year In Pictures

Pin It Now! WOW !! What A Ride 2010 has been. What a blessing, What a Challenge, What a Revelation!!!

We started off 2010 with A New Year's Resolution to become a GREEN Family, recycling more, making our own laundry soap, buying organic and growing our own food in the summer.
In February we moved Alyx and Taylor out of Public School and started our Home School Journey

Taylor spent a week in the hospital the end of February very sick with his Asthma

March 1st we became home owners and purchased the home we were renting since October 2009
We celebrated our first Holiday as home owners at Easter time
We Celebrated being owning our own home by painting teh kitchen and redecorating
In April we started couponing to save money and start stocking up on some cleaning supplies and toiletries and staples for our panty
In May we started our Big Garden to grow all oragnic vegetables and some fruits
Alyx Graduated from "6th" Grade at our homeschool co-op

We enjoyed Spring time field trips with home school friends from Church and co-op
Memorial Weekend Grandma was made an Honorary Club Member of NCYC being the oldest living member on record she is one of the last original members from when the club was started

Nick Graduated from Middle School 8th Grade and is on his way to High School in June
In July the boys all ventured off for a week at camp with the church youth groups they were gone for Alyx's 12th Birthday
September Nick started High School as well as we started our 2nd year of Homeschooling

Nick went to his first homecoming as a Freshman with his girlfriend Ashley of then 6 months As of December 31st 2010 they are still together and going strong we love her like a daughter
We went on Fun outings as a family in the Fall
Alyx and Taylor got the opportunity to attend Starbase for 3 weeks
We finished off 2010 with our 2nd Christmas in our home but 1st as homeowners and it felt wonderful.
In 2010 we also changed churches and strengthened our family relationship with God, it was one of the best moves we have ever made and are so thankful that God showed us the way to our new Church home. We have found many wonderful friends there and really feel at home and have been welcomed with open arms, in this new year coming 2011, we look forward to furthering our Walk with our Lord as a family and letting him lead us on our next adventures.
God Bless you all as you enter a New Year with a Fresh Slate full of endless opportunities and may you be blessed as much as we have been and continue to be.

A Recipe for a Happy New Year

Pin It Now! I posted this on my private facebook page but thought I would share it with you all as it is a wonderful way to look at starting the New Year.. God Bless all of you in 2011 and may it hold many adventures for you and your families.

Recipe for a Happy New Year. . . . . . . . . . . . . . Anonymous

Take twelve fine, full-grown months; see that these are thoroughly free from old memories of bitterness, rancor and hate, cleanse them completely from every clinging spite; pick off all specks of pettiness and littleness; in short, see that these months are freed from all the past—have them fresh and clean as when they first came from the great storehouse of Time. Cut these months into thirty or thirty-one equal parts. Do not attempt to make up the whole batch at one time (so many persons spoil the entire lot this way) but prepare one day at a time.
Into each day put equal parts of faith, patience, courage, work (some people omit this ingredient and so spoil the flavor of the rest), hope, fidelity, liberality, kindness, rest (leaving this out is like leaving the oil out of the salad dressing— don’t do it), prayer, meditation, and one well-selected resolution. Put in about one teaspoonful of good spirits, a dash of fun, a pinch of folly, a sprinkling of play, and a heaping cupful of good humor.

Happy New Year from Our Family to Yours

“Another fresh new year is here . . .

Another year to live!

To banish worry, doubt, and fear,

To love and laugh and give!

This bright new year is given me

To live each day with zest . . .

To daily grow and try to be

My highest and my best!

I have the opportunity

Once more to right some wrongs,

To pray for peace, to plant a tree,

And sing more joyful songs!”

Outside my window...I see the remnants of the snow storm from a couple weeks ago, it is still here on the grass but thankfully the streets are clear for the time being.

I am thankful for...family and that my husband has a job in this straining economy

From the learning rooms...(if this applies)silence we are still on Christmas Break

From the kitchen...my hubby who is off today making another cup of coffee

I am wearing...jeans and a purple striped long sleeve shirt

I am creating...the boys and I will be attempting to make homemade marshmellows this afternoon and decorating them

I am going...to Celebrate the new this coming Friday with my family.

I am reading...2 tickets to the Christmas Ball

I am hoping...that my hubby's hours pick up soon business has been slow to say the least

I am hearing...Rayven chattering to herself in her crib even though she is suppose to be napping

Around the house...is clean and all chores are done for the day, we started Flying with The flylady on Sunday and it is amazing and motivating

One of my favorite things...is just chillin with my family when we have no where special to be

Getting Organized for Good with The Fly Lady

Pin It Now!  My home is realitively clean and to a point organized but it sometimes seems to get away from me and then we spend hours putting back the way it should be. I have tried my way now we are going to do it The Fly Lady Way . Routine is what makes habits and this lady has it licked. We started today with Shining our Sink
Tomorrow starts our first Zone of the system and it is our living room. I actually folded today and took our tree down early. I cannot stand chaos and the tree was making me a little nutty. I immediately felt better as soon as the tree and Christmas knick knacks were put away. I feel bad putting the stuff away so early but I think we were all ready to have that space back. Our living room is not that big and we were starting to feel the squeeze it was creating in our living space.
Does your home and family need a fresh start this coming New Year? Why Not go flying with us and The Fly Lady...

Meet me on Monday Blog Hop December 27 2010

Pin It Now! Meet Me on Monday!!

Welcome to the 28th edition of

"Meet Me On Monday!"

Blogging is a funny thing...we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read and yet most of the time I find myself sitting and wondering, "who is this person!?" I know them...but yet I don't know them! I want to know who the person is behind all those words so I thought of a great way for all of us to "meet" each other!

Every Sunday I will post five get to know you questions that you can copy and paste into your own Monday post and we can all learn a little more about each and every one of us!!

"Its a great way to to meet new friends and for others to get to know me better....one Monday at a time!!!"....as quoted by the Chacogirl!! I will make this SIMPLE and FUN!!!

I will add a linky so we can follow who participates and get to know them better!! Be sure to link the POST and not just your whole blog!

1. What are your New Year's Eve plans?

2. How tall are you?

3. What is your favorite pudding flavor?

4. What room of the house do you blog the most in?

5. What is your best physical feature?

My Answers!
1.What are your New Year's Eve plans?

New Year's Eve around here is a Family Holiday spent with the kiddos and us, We go out to Dinner with my parents early in the evening around 4 and then head home to do family game and movie night and watch the Ball drop in Times Square...
I do not like being out on the road with all the drunk drivers so I would rather all be safe and at home.

2. How tall are you?

5ft  7 1/2 inches and now shorter than my oldest son who is a whole inch taller than me. Yikes!!

3. What is your favorite pudding flavor?

Box is definitely chocolate but I absolutely love Tapioca pudding

4. What room of the house do you blog the most in?

My living room as that is where my main computer is some times I blog from our classroom on my laptop but that is not very often because we are usually too busy doing school work.

5. What is your best physical feature?

I would have to say my face although if you ask my hubby he may say my chest LOL

Time to link up and meet!!

This is a blog hop so if you want to put the linky on your post just click the "Get the Code" at the bottom of the linky.

Your link MUST include your Meet Me On Monday post or it will be deleted!

Also PLEASE either put the Meet Me On Monday button in your post or link your post back to me. I have found several people just posting the questions and answers in their post and no one knows that they actually belong to a meme and linky!
