Showing "special Moms" there is Hope

Pin It Now! Alyx was interviewed for the Bay Area Voice they also interviewed me in the process
this made the front page I was SHOCKED, the other cool thing is that it was in the paper on Dave and I's 14th anniversary
I received such positive feedback from friends of special kids that it just had me overwhelmed in tears, we chose to put the Autism factor in the article to give moms and dads of those kids hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and to my amazement in 2 days it has done just that, it makes it all so worth it, if Alyx's struggle helps just 1 family then I have accomplished my mission.

Summer's finally here? Or is it?

Pin It Now! Well tomorrow is the boys last day of school and then summer vacation, but mother nature has not caught up yet, it is down right cold for this time of year. Poor Taylor, will it ever get warm for my poor boy who cannot be cold. The boys did great this year in school, but the most amazing transformation has been Zander. He ended his magical year with a Presidential Academic Achievement Award, this can only be earned your exiting year of school and he was the ONLY 5th Grader to earn it. I was to say the least stunned. Considering a year ago what we are going through, that boy amazes me on a weekly if not daily basis. He then in turn has qualified for a personal award through young marines that is given by the National Director, so Not only will he have a certificate and pin from the President of the US but now a Citation and Ribbon Bar from the Young Marines National Director. I am humbled by my sons growth and to all those moms of special kids, know that there is a light at the end of that dark tunnel that may seem like it never is going to end. Last year I was excited because my then 10 yr old learned to tie his shoes and look where he is now. All I can say is WOW, But knowing where we have been I never take the little things like tying your shoes for granted.
So with that being said See you on the flip side
